The painters were here again most of the day, finishing off the bedroom and putting coats on the skirting boards and doors. They’ve almost finished, but still need to do another coat on all the doors, and also to paint the bathroom ceiling. They’d planned to finish today but it’s taken a little longer than expected, so they’re going to come back on Tuesday to finish it off. They wanted Monday, but I’m busy with classes and meetings all day, so I said Tuesday.
This evening, my wife and I dropped Scully off at her sister’s place (my wife’s sister, not Scully’s sister!) for the evening, and we went to the Bathers’ Pavilion for dinner. This is a fancy restaurant we go to for special occasions and we had a very nice dinner overlooking the beach. It was very relaxing after the week of painting causing disruptions.
Tomorrow we have a day with no painting, but we’ll be spending time removing boxes and bags from the garage and putting things back in place. Only we can only do it in the living room, not the bedroom yet, since the closet doors still need to be finished.
