Honestly, it’s exhausting having your home painted. The whole day is disrupted and it’s hard to any of your regular things.
I keep putting things like my keys and sunglasses and jacket and socks down in places, and then forgetting where they are because they’re not in the usual place, since everything is moved, and then I search and can’t find them.
Today I walked up the street to the shops to get lunch at a local pub. My wife had Scully at her work. I think the disruption is really disturbing Scully too… she’s been restless and not eating properly.
But progress is being made. The kitchen and living room just need a final coat on the skirting boards and window sills. The bedroom ceiling and walls have had an initial coat and should be finished off tomorrow, leaving the skirting boards probably for Saturday. And some of the doors have now been primed for gloss paint. I think most things should be done tomorrow, and then the last little bits on Saturday, which is when they said they’d finish the job. Most of the living room furniture has been pushed closer to the walls – it should be able to pushed right back against the walls tomorrow after letting them dry overnight.
Not much else to report today.
