Painting day 4

The painting continues. Today the living room and study area were completed, and at the end of the day we moved al of the furniture back into place. Phew… my wife said the space looks empty and huge, now that the furniture is back against the walls instead of in the middle of the room. Though we still have some bags of clothes and drawers from the bedroom wardrobe sitting out. The bedroom and the doors were the main concern today. The doors of everything have now been primed, ready for glossy coats tomorrow.

Because the living room is done, we could put back things like the window blinds as well. We had these changed a few months ago to match the intended new wall colour, so they’ve been kind of mismatched to the old walls for that time, but now they look gorgeous and blend in nicely with the brand new wall colour.

It’s my wife’s day off, so we went out together with Scully for lunch at a nearby cafe while the painters worked. While there, I drew a sketch of the house across the street from the cafe.

82 Greenwich Road

I shared the sketch with my friends, and one of them looked up the address, and found that this house sold in 2022 for $9.65 million! It’s a 1917 Federation Queen Anne style house, with four upstairs bedrooms (plus a 5th/study on the ground floor).

Tonight is board games night with my friends, but I decided not to go to the in-person event tonight because I’m exhausted from the painting and had things to put back in place this evening.
